Haken Audio Continuum

A live performance by Edmund Eagan on the Haken Audio Continuum Fingerboard, ultilizing it's built-in synthesizer, the EaganMatrix. Edmund is the designer of the EaganMatrix, and will showacase a number of the highly expressive sounds capable with this instrument. The combination of the Continuum Fingerboard and the EaganMatrix sets a new standard in organic expressivity for electronic musical instruments.

About Edmund Eagan:
Edmund Eagan is an audio manipulator  for film, video, web, radio and dance, bringing over 25 years of professional experience to his work. This is backed by five years of university study in music composition at Ottawa and Toronto, Canada. During his career he has explored many varied musical genres, resulting in numerous award winning productions, including a Canadian television Gemini award for the music in the animated production “The Woman Who Raised a Bear as Her Son”, a Gemini for CBC’s “The Health Show”, and Gemini nominations for the music in the documentary film “FLicKeR”, the film “Curiosities” and in the Man Alive documentary “Beyond Belief”. He has a recipient of multiple SOCAN (The Society of Composer, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) awards in recognition of his work in film and television. As well as doing original music and sound design work, Edmund has participated in numerous audio recordings both as performer and producer, and has been extensively involved in the design and operation of a new innovative musical instrument, the Continuum Fingerboard, manufactured by Haken Audio.

Gesprächskonzerte

In Saal 1 bieten Künstler, Musiker oder Entwickler Konzert-ähnliche Performances und Präsentationen von bis zu 20 Minuten, innerhalb derer sie auch die verwendete Technik oder Geräte erklären und Fragen beantworten.
(Bitte) nachgelagerte Erklärungen bzw. das Gespräch sollte maximal die Hälfte der Zeit in Anspruch nehmen.

Die zum Teil filigranen Produkte und die technische Anwendung werden über Monitore und Videotechnik angemessen sichtbar gemacht, die Darbietungen werden zur späteren Veröffentlichung mitgeschnitten.

Der Begriff „Gesprächskonzerte“ wurde geprägt von Oskar Sala, der Konzerte so benannte, wenn er das in der Regel verwendete Mixtur-Trautonium im nachfolgenden Gespräch erläuterte.
