The cathode ray oscilloscope shows an accurate representation of waveforms of sounds. Left / Right audio channels trigger the horizontal / vertical deflection of the cathode ray, whereby corresponding Lissajous figures are visualized. When generating these waveforms both the aural and visual aspects are taken into account to create a coherent audiovisual composition. Using the BRLaser system the cathode ray is replaced with a laser beam. The oscilloscope principle remains. The visualization is enhanced by modulation of the colors RGB.
